Spring Fashion

It is definitely Spring here in the South. {I think it's been Spring now for at least a couple weeks with all the warm weather we've been having.} I don't know about you, but this weather makes me 'need' a whole new wardrobe! I have been focusing on some different projects I wanted to make for my girls {skirts, etc.} and now I'm looking for more projects to do for my own wardrobe. I have big plans {maybe even crazy plans} but I thought I'd share some of the things I have seen recently that I like. I'm in the middle of some sewing projects for friends, so enjoy these fun links and I'll be back with more fun tutorials this week!
The Maxi Dress. I love these. And I might make myself one if I don't find any cute ones at Ross for less than $15. I hear you can score some right now for great deals at Ross if there is one near you. I'm heading over there this week. Here's a tutorial I found for a cute one! LOVE the fabric! It's a vintage sheet!

This is a quick way to make a maxi dress. Check out this 10-Minute Tutorial! You can do so much with this. Use your imagination!

And last, but not least: The Chevron Maxi Skirt. {Swoon} My favorite fabric pattern right now {and 5 million other people}. This isn't a tutorial, just one for sale. But it sure wouldn't be hard to make one like this!
What do you love this Spring??

Tiered Petal Skirt {Tutorial Link}

I've been busy making my girls' Easter skirts and today I finished the second of three. You can find the first one here. This one today is {in my humble opinion} absolutely adorable!! It is because of the type of skirt, but more importantly, the fabric pattern that it is so cute. I am a sucker for polka dots. Add navy blue to the mix and I'm sold! I found this skirt on Pinterest, but here is a direct link to the instructions. She did an excellent job on the instructions for this skirt. It's very easy, just a little time consuming. {Totally worth it!}

Stay tuned for one more Easter skirt in the next few days!
I'm linking to some of these parties!

From Shirt to Skirt {Tutorial Link}

Last Fall, my sister over at Less-Than-Perfect-Life of Bliss, wrote about how to make a Ladies' Skirt out of a man's shirt. Well, I immediately went to the closest thrift store in search of shirts that I could cut up and make skirts out of. I found a few, came home and started cutting up a cute plaid shirt to make a skirt for my oldest girl. I got the two side seams sewn when my sewing machine decided to act up. So, I quit working on it and set it aside. I sort of forgot about it until last week when I was cleaning out my stash of projects-to-work-on. And thanks to Hubs for getting me a nicer, more reliable sewing machine for Christmas, I finished it. This time around I tailored it for my middle girl and it works perfectly for her! So, here are my pics. Go check out the extensive tutorial here.

If you make one, leave me a comment with a link to yours! I'd love to see more of these! I love the snaps on this one instead of buttons and my girl loves the pockets!

Warm Fuzzy Welcome!

Welcome to Life is Sew Daily! This is my latest blog {it seems that blogging is my hobby} and I hope you'll enjoy what you see here and come back to visit often. I plan to post tutorials, great resources, linky parties to show your latest projects and perhaps a few giveaways every now and then!

I've been in a sewing mood of late and thought that I'd start blogging about my projects. I have a lot of projects going right now. You can see some of them here where I sell them in my etsy shop. You can also see some of my other 'projects' here where I bake allergy-free for one of my daughters.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
