Christmas PINspiration

I'm pretty sure Christmas is the most inspiring holiday. From decorations inside your house to outside, mantles, trees, ornaments, to all kinds of delicious foods and table settings Christmas is very inspiring! I've been loving all the neat things coming across my Pinterest feed this week. In fact, they've been so inspiring I thought I'd share some of them with you!

 

Is this the cutest Christmas chalkboard idea you've ever seen? I love the unique look of this with the classic plaid bow and holly, not to mention that glittery reindeer! How cute!! Thanks, Kim @ Today's Creative Blog for this adorable idea! Check out her blog post to see how to make your own!

I love black and white stripes so this wrapping paper caught my eye immediately! And I love the green ribbon accent. My wrapping paper this year will include black and white chevron paper and another coordinating paper, as well. Black and white is always in style. I bought my chevron wrapping paper here.

 

Using free printables in my decorations is an easy and cheap way to add some holiday cheer and keeps the reminder of what Christmas is all about a daily part of our Christmas season. Check out Stephanie's (from Recipes from Stephanie) collection of free printables for this season!

 

These fresh garland wreaths are classy! And easy! Go check out how my sister from Less-Than-Perfect-Life of Bliss made these. It's an easy to follow tutorial and you'll have your wreaths hung in no time!

And how about these place cards? I love the simplicity. Sprig of rosemary is the star of the show along with a simple handwritten font on cardstock. Stunning.

Yes, I'm still here. And my sewing machine is still sitting on my desk in my living room. Life has just gotten crazy busy for me the last few weeks and I had to postpone some of my projects I've been wanting to do and post. But, as soon as my biggest project right now is completed, I'll be back posting some more fun and easy tutorials. My days have been filled with:

 Making lists. LOTS of lists. I have a LOT to do. Did I mention I've made LOTS of lists??? I've also been crossing LOTS off of my list which feels so very good. Which makes me want to make more lists. Vicious cycle.

 Made my momma this necklace for Mother's Day. {You'll get it in a few days, Mom!} She's on a much-needed vacation at the moment. She is quite a woman! So thankful God chose her for me.

 I've been making some homemade cleaners that claim to be the BEST EVER. We'll see. The jury's still out. So far, I like them okay.

Bought myself some of these the other day. WOWZA! I love these addicting little things. My favorite hard candy. Ever.

I'd like to find a way to do a little more of this, but my calendar is pretty full these days and with my girls getting out of school soon, this will be a thing of the past. No rest for the weary. {ha}

Tiered Petal Skirt {Tutorial Link}

I've been busy making my girls' Easter skirts and today I finished the second of three. You can find the first one here. This one today is {in my humble opinion} absolutely adorable!! It is because of the type of skirt, but more importantly, the fabric pattern that it is so cute. I am a sucker for polka dots. Add navy blue to the mix and I'm sold! I found this skirt on Pinterest, but here is a direct link to the instructions. She did an excellent job on the instructions for this skirt. It's very easy, just a little time consuming. {Totally worth it!}

Another Turtleneck Makeover {A Ruffled Shirt Tutorial}

I had {sew} much fun yesterday making my pink ruffled t-shirt that I decided to make a white one today, only this time it's from turtleneck to v-neck. And I really like it! It is really just way too easy. So, here's the how-to in pictures. You may want to refer to yesterday's post for more detailed instructions.

Subway Art {Free Printables & a Tutorial}

I love subway art. I'm not sure what about it makes me love it, but it's just very pleasing to the eye. The other day, I was browsing around Pinterest {where you can find a lot of examples of subway art} and found this one for Easter. Yes, I said Easter and we're just getting started in March. It's technically not even Spring yet, but I think Easter should be celebrated all year long. So, I printed it out and just happened to have the perfect frame I had bought from Goodwill awhile back to put it in. It is matted, but has no glass. It's perfect!

My brother made me these for Christmas and I just love them! I'm still waiting for Hubs to hang them up, though. Maybe tomorrow I can get him to do it!

Here are a few of my favorite things I've come across that I think you'll love, too.

I love this State Pillow by Less-Than-Perfect-Life of Bliss and the tutorial is so easy to follow! This is on my to-do list!

I found this on Pinterest awhile back {the link on there no longer works, so I can't give you a source}, but I had already made one of these for my youngest in a tank dress version with some pale blue material. Loved it! Super easy! Maybe I'll do a tutorial one of these days.

I don't know about you, but I love me some t-shirts of the ruffled variety. And you just can't find them everywhere, so why not make your own? I'm totally going to give this a try....one day.

These colors are my fabric love language. I love everything about this pic. And hopefully, I'll be using them in my big girl's room later this year. Her room is currently pink. She's 8 1/2 and has declared {on more than one occasion} that she is sick to death of pink. Can I let you in on a little secret? SO AM I. So, bring me some aqua and red. Pronto.
