No-Sew Ruffled Hipster {Tutorial}

Updated for my 31 Days of Home Economics series.

 

This is a fun, quick project that requires no sewing. The main character of this story is stitch witchery. I love using stitch witchery on loose hems when I'm in a pinch or for reinforcement on other projects. It's a handy little tool. But for this project, it was perfect because it was impossible to add ruffles by sewing machine. Enter Stitch Witchery. Pillowcase Dress & Matching Capris {Tutorial}

I've been working on a few different things this week, so today I decided to show you one thing I made for my almost 4 year old. This is just a quick little tutorial since I already did a more in-depth tutorial on the pillowcase dress/shirt not too long ago. I made this in a dress length so my daughter could wear it with or without shorts. This time I also made matching capris for her to wear with this dress when she's playing or whatever. I used this tutorial to make the capris, just made them longer and wider than this tutorial shows. Enjoy!
*For a 4 year old, I measured 24 inches long (the width is a standard sized pillow case), allowing 1 inch for bottom hem and 1 inch for top seam to thread the tie through.*

Ruffle Front Skirt {Tutorial}

This is the last of my 3 elastic waist skirts I've sewn for my girls for Easter. If you haven't noticed, our color scheme this year for Easter is navy and kelly green. I found all three of these fabrics at Wal-Mart, believe it or not. I love these colors and I'm SO thrilled with how these skirts turned out! You can see the elastic waist skirt with sash tutorial here and the tiered petal skirt tutorial here. They will wear these with plain white t-shirts embellished with navy silk flower pins or fabric flowers. I still haven't worked out all the details yet. Kids' Ruffled T-Shirts {Tutorial}

As you can see from this post and this post, I am addicted to making short sleeved ruffled t-shirts out of long sleeved tees and turtlenecks. This time around, I did some for my girls. I found $2 long sleeve t-shirts at JCPenney on clearance and bought 5 different colors. Since they wear the same size, they can share these cute shirts all spring/summer long. Have you made any yet??

Another Turtleneck Makeover {A Ruffled Shirt Tutorial}

I had {sew} much fun yesterday making my pink ruffled t-shirt that I decided to make a white one today, only this time it's from turtleneck to v-neck. And I really like it!
