Another Ladies' Skirt & Easy Zipper

So, I've been finding some really cute fabric lately and decided to make myself some 30 minute skirts like the one I made by request for a friend. I showed you that tutorial a few days ago. It really is so easy to make a skirt from scratch including sewing in a zipper! Anyone can do it. If you can sew a straight line {who can't?}, you can sew a skirt. So, go find some fabric you like and do it. It won't take long, I promise!
Go here to see the complete tutorial for sewing a basic ladies' skirt and to get the tutorial for sewing in a zipper - the easy way.
Here are pics of the most recent one I made myself. I've got a couple more to make this weekend and I think I'll be pretty much set....unless I find more cute fabric, that is.

Turtleneck to Ruffled T-Shirt {Tutorial}

As I mentioned in this post, I love ruffled t-shirts! It's just that I don't see many of them in the store that I like. I met up with a friend today and we were talking about how we love t-shirts, but they aren't long enough or cute enough. Then, just a couple hours later, I was at the mall with Hubs and we went in JCPenney. I just happened to find a whole bunch of turtlenecks that were clearanced for $2 each, so I picked one up. I realized right off the bat that the quality was really nice and also that it was longer than a regular t-shirt. And then it struck me...for $2, I can attempt to make a ruffled t-shirt out of these. So, I bought two. I have to say, I love the finished result. And Hubs was very surprised at how nice it looks! {He was skeptical when I told him my plans.} Oh, and the thing about using a turtleneck - the 'after' neckline is modest and isn't low cut like most t-shirts! I love that!

If you make your own, I'd love to see a pic!

Milkmaid Skirt {Tutorial Link}

I have three little girls so anytime I find a cute skirt tutorial, I'm probably going to put it on my list of things to sew. I found the cutest skirt that I know my littles will love to wear. It's going to be great for summer! And I've found some lovely bright colored fabrics for this project.

You can find a great tutorial here. I couldn't have said it better myself. Check out crafterhours.blogspot.com for more great project ideas! It's a fun, informative blog!

Here are the pics from my skirt!
